DRY NEEDLING

Used in conjunction with our Osteopathy treatment.

Given the right individual at the right time, trigger point dry needling may help settle down your symptoms and provide some pain relief from myofascial trigger points and myofascial pain syndrome.

The sensation of needle insertion is usually confined to a millisecond of the nerve’s local twitch response and can be followed by a minor sense of dull aching. Dry needling can excellent for relieving pain such as headaches, neck pain, and upper back pain.

Dry needling is not the same as acupuncture and should not be confused with it. Acupuncture is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine principles while dry needling is based on a Western medical understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the body.

POWERLIFTING SPECIFIC INJURY MANAGEMENT

Are you a powerlifter who has been told to avoid lifting with a current injury? Here at MVMT, we like to work around your injury instead of taking away activities that mean the most to you.

With a hybrid approach of Osteopathy paired with Strength & Conditioning, our injury management program takes the time to assess and understand each individual’s biomechanics to make the most of every single movement and lifts. We are one of the few rehabilitation providers that can provide assistance on how you can reach your goals quicker using our powerlifting-specific injury management program.

Powerlifting is much more than just squat, bench press, and deadlift. It is a great way to build strength, muscle, and confidence. The injury management process begins with a full assessment of your current lifting ability, biomechanics, and any previous injuries. From there, we will work with you to create an individualised plan that takes into account of your specific goals and needs.
